Bruce Katz

Katz is a senior fellow at The Brookings Institution and director of its new Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy, which seeks to enrich national discussion of the future of America9s cities. Katz has extensive knowledge about the issues facing urban America through his work as staff director of the Senate Subcommittee on Housing and Urban Affairs and as chief of staff for Henry Cisneros, former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The center connects the expert knowledge and practical experience of academics, private sector and non-profit leaders, and local elected officials to help develop and promote informed policies and integrated strategies for building strong cities and metropolitan regions.
