A Message from the Governor
Ted Strickland

I am happy to offer a warm welcome to everyone attending the 2008 Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio and Arts Day Luncheon. It is an honor to take part in this wonderful program honoring those who are committed to enhancing the creative and cultural life of our state.

The great talents and generous contributions of today’s award recipients, and all those who were nominated, demonstrate that Ohio is a culturally rich state where the arts are alive and thriving.

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to each of the 2008 recipients of the Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio. The remarkable achievements of these individuals and organizations enliven our communities and enrich the lives of countless Ohioans.
