I am pleased to offer a warm welcome to everyone attending the 2009 Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio and Arts Day Luncheon. It is an honor to take part in this wonderful program honoring those who are committed to enhancing the wealth of artistic treasures and cultural traditions in our state.
The tremendous talents and generous contributions of the award recipients, and all those who were nominated, demonstrate that Ohio is a state with a rich cultural life and an arts community dedicated to a vital future for all Ohioans.
I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to each of the 2009 recipients of the Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio. The remarkable achievements of these individuals and organizations make our communities vibrant places to live, work and visit and help enrich the lives of Ohioans every day.
