Search Directory

To begin searching the Ohio Appalachian Artist Directory, click the button below marked <Search Appalachian Arts Individual Artists>.

After clicking the <Search Appalachian Arts Individual Artists> button, you will see the Basic Search Page of the Directory. This page allows you to search in three areas: Address Information, Artist Information, or Artist Disciplines. You may be as specific as you like and enter information in any or all of the available fields. If you are not sure of the exact spelling of a name or location, try just the first few letters. If you do not enter any information at all, a list of ALL artists in the Directory will be shown (note: this may take several minutes to load).

After entering your information, click the <Search> button at the bottom and all artists that match your search criteria will be shown. You can then click on an artist’s name to enter that individual record and learn more.

You may also do a much more detailed search if you like. The Basic Search Page lets you search for all artists involved in Music, Visual Arts & Crafts, etc. But if you would like to search for a certain kind of musician – say, bluegrass – or a certain kind of visual artist – say, a quilter – you may want to click the <Show Complete Discipline Search> button at the bottom of this page. You will then be taken to a more advanced search page that will give you a chance to search for any of the more than 300 specific art forms in the system – everything from calligraphy and candle-making to storytelling and spirituals. Just scroll down to view the many options available.

If you have any questions about the terms used on the search pages just click on the [question mark graphic] to learn more, or click <Help> at the top of this page.
