Columbus, Ohio--The Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery has accepted 59 Ohio artists into its first juried exhibition. The exhibition will run November 5, 2015, through January 10, 2016. During the public opening reception, Thursday, November 5, 5-7 p.m., jurors will present one $1,000 Best of Show Award and three $500 Juror's Choice Awards. Exhibition jurors include Tyler Cann, Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus; Petra Kralickova, formerly of Ohio University, Athens; and Marilyn Simmons, SPACES, Cleveland. Ohio artists (not enrolled in a degree-granting program, age 18 and older) were invited to submit up to three artworks in a statewide call for entries. Nearly 400 applications were submitted in a wide range of media including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, and video. About the Riffe Gallery: The Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery showcases the work of Ohio's artists and the collections of the state's museums and galleries. The Riffe Gallery is located in the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts, across from the Statehouse on High Street in Downtown Columbus. The gallery is free and open to the public.
