Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery To Remain Open

Columbus, OH--Jeffrey A. Rich, board chair of the Ohio Arts Council (OAC), has announced that the Riffe Gallery will remain open.

"The Riffe Gallery will continue to be managed by the OAC and its partners, with the goal of engaging Ohio artists and investing in the state's creative sector," said Rich. "The Riffe Gallery is a celebrated part of the OAC's history and has been an important contributor to advancing the agency's mission of strengthening the arts in Ohio."

Planned action regarding the Riffe Gallery analysis has been removed from the July 22 agenda, with no future closure action anticipated.

"While staff review of gallery operations revealed areas in need of rejuvenation, the recent outpouring of support from local arts and community leaders now gives the OAC the opportunity to redouble its marketing, outreach, and educational efforts surrounding the Riffe Gallery," said Donna S. Collins, executive director of the Ohio Arts Council. "We will launch creative practices, forge innovative partnerships, and reaffirm our support of Ohio artists to ensure the gallery is successful for years to come."

"I look forward to sharing this news with arts advocates throughout the state, and I hope to see many of them at the Riffe Gallery in the near future and beyond," Collins added.

Admission to the Riffe Gallery is free and open to the public. Its next exhibition, Flashback to Now, opens Thursday, July 23 and runs through October 18. For more information, including gallery hours, visit riffegallery.org.

OAC Board meeting agendas are published in advance and announced on the OAC website at oac.ohio.gov.
