The Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery Presents All Play, No Work

The Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery will present All Play, No Work from May 7 through July 5, 2015. Curated by Massillon Museum Director Alex Coon, the exhibition will display artwork by 13 Ohio artists, exposing the nature of their private lives through an introspective look at time spent away from daily routines in various leisure activities.

Artists in the exhibition will include: Ron Anderson (Columbus), Donna Coleman (Oberlin), Diana Duncan Holmes (Cincinnati), Carol Griffith (Orient), Helma Groot (Columbus), Jay Robert Johnston (Marion), Linda Langhorst (Columbus), Bellamy Printz (Cleveland), Vicki Rulli and Tom Heaphey (Springfield), Jessica Summers (Findlay), Stephen Tomasko (Akron), and Eileen K. Woods (Columbus).

Opening Reception
Join us for the public exhibition opening of All Play, No Work on Thursday, May 7 from 5-7 p.m.

Curator's Tour
Take a guided tour of the exhibition led by curator Alex Coon on Thursday, May 7 (moved to opening day) from noon-1 p.m.

Family Workshop with Helma Groot
Attend a free family workshop with Columbus artist Helma Groot on Sunday, June 7 from 2-4 p.m. Participants will construct paper mobiles using templates of people in motion and decorate the action-themed shapes with paint, glue, glitter, and other media. The resulting kinetic sculpture will be yours to enjoy at home. The workshop is geared towards children ages 6 to 17. All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Space is limited; register here between May 8 and June 3.

Writing Workshop with Mimi Brodsky Chenfeld
Welcome back the "Queen of Fun," Mimi Brodsky Chenfeld, on Thursday, June 18 from 5:30-8 p.m. for an energy charged creative writing workshop based on the theme of PLAY! Space is limited to 20 adult participants; register here between May 8 and June 15.

All Play, No Work is presented by the Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery with support from OAC's Individual Artist Grants and Services Program. Educational offerings are sponsored by OAC's Arts Learning Program. Media support is provided by CD102.5, CityScene, Ohio Channel, WOSU, Ohio Magazine, and WCBE 90.5 FM.
