Governor Kasich Appoints Jon D. Holt of Dayton to Ohio Arts Council Board

Governor John Kasich has appointed Jon David Holt of Dayton to the Ohio Arts Council board. Mr. Holt's term will end on July 1, 2017.

"I am very pleased to welcome Mr. Holt to the OAC board," said Julie Henahan, executive director of the OAC. "His strong grounding in the law and providing counsel and guidance to his clients will be an asset to the business of the arts council as well."

Mr. Holt is director and senior corporate counsel in the Global Legal Department of LexisNexis, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. Mr. Holt's practice focuses on corporate, compliance and intellectual property law, and he is lead counsel for three business units within the LexisNexis organization. He helped launch and served as the co-chair of the LexisNexis Pro Bono Initiative. Prior to joining LexisNexis, Mr. Holt worked in Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP's litigation department, in the firm's Dayton office. Mr. Holt currently serves on the board of the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) of Greater Dayton and the Miami Valley School alumni board. He was an associate board member at the Dayton Art Institute.

"His background will be a perfect match for the needs of the Ohio Arts Council as we look to the future," said OAC board chair Jeffrey A. Rich of Mr. Holt.
