by Malika Bryant

Governor John Kasich has appointed Juan Cespedes of Columbus to the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) board. His term began July 11, 2013 and ends July 1, 2014.

"I am very pleased to welcome Mr. Cespedes to the board of the Ohio Arts Council and look forward to the business and financial acumen he will bring to his work with the board," said Julie Henahan, executive director of the OAC.

Mr. Cespedes is a financial consultant with The Oxley Group where he works in business development and government relations. With a background in financial services, he represents a diverse group of clients by promoting their interests to both state and federal government. After receiving a degree in finance from Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business, he worked as an investment officer with the Ohio Treasurer of State's office.

"Governor Kasich has made an excellent choice by adding Mr. Cespedes to the Ohio Arts Council board," said OAC board chair Jeffrey A. Rich. "His strong financial background and familiarity with all levels of state government make him a perfect addition to the council."

Mr. Cespedes is a member of the Capital Square Review and Advisory Board. He is also a participant in the Columbus Athletic Club and the Columbus Metropolitan Library Club.
