The Ohio Arts Council has partnered with artist and curator Nicholas Hill to develop an exhibition based on the Ohio and Dresden printmaking exchange program. Time and Place: An International Exhibition of Works on Paper, curated by Hill and currently on display at OSU's Urban Art Space, features work by the German and Ohio artists who have participated in this printmaking exchange. Since 1998, the OAC has partnered with the city of Dresden to host two Ohio printmakers in residence at the Dresden Graphic Workshop and two German printmakers at Zygote Press, Cleveland. Over the past 14 years, 56 artists have participated in the program. The resulting prints and other two-dimensional works on paper reflect how navigating the cultures of their host countries have affected the artists' and their creative processes. Time and Place: An International Exhibition of Works on Paper traveled to Columbus after its opening run at the Standhaus Gallery in Dresden, June 4 - July 12, 2012. It will be on display at the OSU Urban Art Space until October 10, 2012. In conjunction with the exhibition, a two-day symposium and gathering will be hosted by Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative and the Ohio State University Department of Art on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22. For more information and a complete list of the artists displayed, please contact OSU Urban Art Space at 614/292-8861 or visit online at www.uas.osu.edu. This exhibition celebrates the 200th anniversary of the founding of Columbus and is in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the Sister City program between the City of Columbus and the City of Dresden, Germany.
