OAC Reorganizes Staff Contacts for Organizational Grant Programs
by Amy McKay

The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) has reorganized the primary program contacts for three of the agency's organizational grant programs: Project Support, Sustainability and Arts Access. Prior to contacting the OAC with questions or comments regarding these grant programs, applicants and current grantees should review the changes detailed below.

Project Support

The Project Support application deadline is April 1, 2012. Project Support is a relatively new program at the OAC that was created to provide organizations with flexible funding for short-term projects through two types of grants--General Project and Creative Economy Project. While General Project grants support a broad range of activities, from routine programming to one-time special initiatives, the Creative Economy Project grants support projects that leverage the assets of the creative sector--artists, arts and cultural organizations and arts-related businesses--to improve a community's economic conditions and quality of life.

Click here to view the new OAC regional Project Support coordinator map. The primary OAC contacts for Project Support are:

  • Program coordinator Kathy Cain: Eastern Region, covering the eastern and central sections of the state, including Ohio's entire Appalachian region, Columbus and central Ohio. Kathy Cain can be reached at kathy.cain@oac.state.oh.us or 614/728-4427.

  • Program coordinator Pat Henahan: Western Region, covering all of western and north central Ohio. Pat Henahan can be reached at pat.henahan@oac.state.oh.us or 614/728-4441.

  • Applications from organizations in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Lorain counties will be divided between Kathy Cain and Pat Henahan alphabetically. Organizations starting with letters in the first half of the alphabet (A-L) should contact Pat Henahan; those starting with letters in the latter half of the alphabet (M-Z) should contact Kathy Cain.

Sustainability and Arts Access

Current grantees in the Sustainability and Arts Access programs must complete off-year updates by April 1, 2012 for their FY13 grants. There are no application deadlines for either program this spring.
