Do you have an opinion on the state of the arts in Ohio? Now is the time to speak out. The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) is conducting a statewide arts, culture and entertainment opinion survey. The goal of this survey is to learn more about how the OAC can best meet citizens’ cultural needs, and the results will be used as part of the OAC’s strategic planning process. What do you think the state of Ohio should be doing in support of the state's arts and cultural heritage? Share your thoughts by taking the survey, and then forward it on to your friends, family and colleagues. Click here to take the survey: http://ohioartssurvey.questionpro.com In order to reach as many Ohioans as possible through this online survey, the OAC needs your help. Once you have completed the survey, please e-mail it to your friends or even share it on Facebook! All respondents are eligible for a drawing to win one of five $100 Barnes and Noble gift certificates from the Ohio Arts Foundation, Inc. This is a time-sensitive request. The survey will only be available until July 16. This online survey builds on the OAC’s successful 2008-09 Listening Tour, during which nearly 1,000 elected officials, artists, teachers, arts administrators and citizens shared their views on the arts, creativity, and the roles cultural resources play in their lives and communities. Upon completion, the survey results will play an important role in the agency’s strategic planning process. “The Ohio Arts Council is at a critical stage in its history, and now more than ever is the time to explore the future of the arts in Ohio,” said OAC Executive Director Julie Henahan. “A broad and inclusive planning process is a crucial component for success, and I am excited to be sharing the development and the implementation of this plan with our constituents and the citizens of Ohio.” Survey results will be reported in the aggregate (individual responses will be anonymous), and the OAC will provide an executive summary of the results once analysis of those findings is complete. Additional research will occur this summer through stakeholder interviews and gatherings led by the Cultural+Planning Group, the firm hired by the OAC to oversee the agency’s strategic planning process. A draft of the strategic plan will be presented to the OAC Board at its September meeting. Please note: this survey strictly adheres to the CAN-SPAM laws. This means the OAC will not send the survey to anyone who has not opted to receive electronic communication from the OAC or state government, and the agency does not purchase email (“spam”) lists.
