Ohio Arts Council Announces Free Arts Jobs Web Site to Connect Employers and Job Seekers
by Jaclyn Reynolds

The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) has launched a free, searchable database of employment opportunities in the arts and cultural sector in Ohio—Art$Work. Online at www.ArtsWorkOhio.org, Art$Work is dedicated to helping Ohio arts and cultural employers connect with passionate, dedicated job-seekers. Employers can list jobs, internships and board positions and connect with a talented and professional workforce, and job seekers can search for full-and part-time creative sector jobs.

“Designed to be easy, effective and targeted, the goal of Art$Work is to help ensure the strength of Ohio’s creative sector. It’s part of the OAC’s ongoing effort to improve services to the citizens of Ohio and Ohio’s creative industries,” said OAC Executive Director, Julie Henahan.

Created and maintained by the OAC, Art$Work provides job seekers the ability to search by job category, job type, county or specific organization to find full- or part-time professional job opportunities as well as listings for internships, volunteer positions or board memberships. Searching is free and open to the public—no registration is required for job seekers.

Employers can quickly and easily announce their openings to a professional, talented and targeted workforce. Any Ohio arts or cultural organization (both nonprofit and commercial) or non-arts organization with arts-specific positions may post listings of open positions within their organizations. Registration is free.

Organizations interested in posting a job opening should go to: www.ArtsWorkOhio.org, and click on the Register Now link. Once completing the basic contact info and validating their email address, they will be able to enter more detailed information about their organization and submit their request for approval to the OAC. Registration is a one-time process; once registered organizations can enter as many job opportunities as they like. 614/995-1662.

The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically.
