Governor Ted Strickland has announced the appointment of Sara Jane DeHoff of Perrysburg to the Ohio Arts Council Board. She will serve a term ending July 1, 2013, replacing Steven Allen, who resigned. “We are very pleased to welcome Mrs. DeHoff to the board of the Ohio Arts Council,” said Julie Henahan, Executive Director of the Ohio Arts Council. “She brings with her a variety of experiences working with arts organizations across the country and we look forward to the benefits of her experience on behalf of the OAC and the citizens of Ohio.” Sara Jane DeHoff has served on many boards including the Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo Symphony, Alliance of Artists Communities, Providence, RI, Lake Placid Center for the Arts, Lake and Lake Placid Institute for the Arts and Humanities Lake Placid, NY, Toledo School for the Arts, Toledo Valentine Theatre, Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and Ohio Citizens for the Arts. She has also served on the board of the United Way of Greater Toledo, Maumee Valley Country Day School, Black Swamp Conservancy and Adirondack Nature Conservancy, Lake Placid, NY. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Northern Iowa University and a law degree from John Marshall Law School. DeHoff has worked as a social worker; a law clerk, lawyer and real estate representative for McDonalds Corporation and as chairman of the board at Calphalon Corporation. The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically.[top]
