Ohio Arts Council Announces February Board Meeting

Members of the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) Board will meet Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Canton Museum of Art, 1001 Market Avenue North, Canton. The business meeting will be held from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

The OAC Board will approve grant recommendations for Individual Artist Excellence Awards. The Board also will ratify grants from fiscal year 2008/2009. There will be a presentation from Tom Birch, legislative counsel at the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, as well as Ohio Citizens for the Arts (OCA) updates from Bill Blair, legislative counsel for OCA and Donna Collins, executive director of OCA, regarding Arts Day on April 1, 2009. The Board also will receive an update from Mary Gray, director of the OAC’s Riffe Gallery.

The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically.
