The Columbus Metropolitan Library, Friends of the CML and
the OAC’s Online Visual Artist Registry Present
The First Annual Online Visual Artist Registry Juried Art Show

The Columbus Metropolitan Library and the Ohio Arts Council have once again partnered to bring arts opportunities to artists and the public by presenting the First Annual Online Visual Artist Registry Juried Art Show at the Columbus Metropolitan Library Main Library. In 1998 the two organizations partnered to create the Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry, a database that showcases the work of more than 700 artists from Ohio and across the country.

The exhibition will be on view at The Columbus Metropolitan Main Library in the Humanities Fine Arts and Recreation Department August 4 through November 30, 2006. The library is located at 96 S. Grant Ave., and is open Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Fri-Sat 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sun 1 – 5 p.m.

An award of $1,000 will be presented to best in show selected through a People’s Choice vote and award of $500 will be presented to Juror’s Choice Best in Show. The Awards Reception will be held on October 19 from 6-7 p.m. Cash awards are provided by Friends of the Library.

The exhibition presents 28 Central Ohio artists from the Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry as chosen by jurors Dayton artist Bing Davis, CML employee and artist Stephanie Oliver and WOSU Communications Director Susan Meyer. The Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry is free, online, cross-referenced, and useful for collectors, curators or anyone who needs to find artists and artwork. Artists featured in the exhibition include Ron Anderson, Tom Baillieul, Viki Blinn, Adam Brouillette, David Cuccia, David Denniston, Steven Elbert, Chet Hay, Ellie Heingartner, Kathleen Houston-Stokes, Tom Hubbard, Matt Klos, William E. Knott Jr., Jules Knowlton, Bernice Koff, Linda Langhorst, Elizabeth Laughman, Lewanda Lim, Denson Parker, Traci M. Parks, Debbie Rosenfeld, Judy Rush, Michael Salrin, Inga H. Smith, Amy Spiders Petsch, James Strecker, Joan Tallan and Beverly Whiteside.
