The Ohio Arts Council is currently developing its 2006-2009 Strategic Plan. The plan is being developed by the Ohio Arts Council board, staff and constituents from around the state and is scheduled to be completed and implemented by July 1, 2006. The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically. With funds from the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations throughout Ohio. The goals of the OAC’s Strategic Plan highlight the agency’s commitment to serve people and strengthen communities through the arts. Six major goals are identified:
For the past 40 years the OAC has worked to ensure that the arts are basic to every community in Ohio. The OAC will continue to challenge its staff and board to strengthen programs and services and to make arts and cultural opportunities available to every Ohioan. As a state agency, a critical part of our strategic planning process includes gathering input from the citizens of Ohio. For this reason, the Ohio Arts Council is seeking comments about the current draft of the plan using an online survey tool.
