WAYNE LAWSON TRIBUTE

The Ohio Arts Council Board cordially invites the Ohio arts community and friends of Wayne P. Lawson to a tribute celebration honoring Wayne for 30 years of building Ohio through the arts. The evening will feature an enjoyable look back at the life of the retiring Ohio Arts Council executive director.

Please help us celebrate the friendship, legacy and accomplishments of Wayne Lawson at a tribute ceremony and reception on Tuesday, February 21, 2006, in the Capitol Theatre in the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts in Columbus. The Riffe Center is located at 77 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

Capitol Theatre doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

This event is FREE and open to everyone.

A reception will immediately follow in the Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery and Riffe Center Lobby.

Wayne Lawson has long been the driving force behind one of the most successful and respected state arts agencies in the country. His relentless pursuit of innovation for the arts in Ohio is to be commended and celebrated. Wayne’s devotion to the expansion of arts participation and arts education in all Ohio communities will continue to have resonance for many years.
