At a public meeting on October 6, the Ohio Arts Council Board approved ratifications of grants for fiscal year 2006. Ratifications are the Board’s final approval of funds allocated in various program areas since its June 30, 2005 meeting. The Board ratified 7 grants for fiscal year 2006 totaling $122,500. These awards have not been announced previously. Together with recommendations approved in June, the Council Board has awarded 426 grants totaling $7,869,691 for FY2006 after reviewing 474 requests for $11,800,847.

The Council Board, consisting of 15 gubernatorial appointees and four nonvoting members from the Ohio legislature, makes final decisions based on panel recommendations.
