Christy Farnbauch, community and organizational development director for the Ohio Arts Council, has accepted the position of school business partnership coordinator for Hilliard City Schools. Farnbauch was with the Ohio Arts Council for 13 years and helped strengthen the network of local arts councils, commissions and centers around the state. “Christy leaves the Ohio Arts Council positioned as one of the best in the country in the field of community development,” said Wayne Lawson, executive director of the Ohio Arts Council. “She is one of the most talented and effective leaders I have known during my long tenure and she will be sorely missed. The talents she brings to her job will make her a great success with Hilliard City Schools.” As director of community and organizational development Farnbauch supervised the design, implementation and evaluation of the OAC programs with budgets totaling approximately $1.5 million. Within the last five years, Farnbauch helped secure and manage a $1.1 million, four-year grant for the Ohio Arts Council from the Wallace Foundation from their State Arts Partnerships for Cultural Participation Initiative and she managed funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Black Swamp Rural Arts Initiative, providing funding for local arts councils in Northwest Ohio.
