Four Ways to Present News : Pitch
Letter
PREPARING AND SUBMITTING A PITCH LETTER A pitch letter is designed to interest reporters and editors in writing their own stories about a particular topic, rather than taking information from a news release. Use a pitch letter to encourage a media outlet to interview someone, focus on an issue or attend and cover an event. Pitch letters abandon standard journalism style, and can be much more editorial and descriptive.
