YOUTH ARTS FORUM OFFERED
IN DAYTON

Culture Works will host the second statewide Youth Arts Forum at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Dayton February 1-2.  Youth Arts Forum II is part of a larger effort to develop a community-wide youth arts network that will provide a support system for arts and youth organizations. The first Forum was held in May 2000.

The Forum will bring together social workers, artists, educators, juvenile justice workers, parents, arts managers and community activists to explore how to incorporate the arts into a wide variety of youth programs, especially those that target underserved and at-risk populations. The Forum will provide training for program providers and educate policy makers about the importance of youth arts programs.

The keynote speaker is Dr. William Pollock, director of the Center for Men and the director of continuing education, psychology, at McLean Hospital. Youth Arts Forum II is presented by Culture Works, in partnership with The Iddings Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council.
