International Partnership—Frequently Asked Questions

1. I would like to attend the panel meeting to hear the review of my application.
There is no public review. International Partnership Program applications will be reviewed internally by OAC staff. All finalists will be interviewed.

2. Our theatre department has been invited for a week long conference in Prague and our project budget is $25,000. We've raised $10,000. Can the OAC fund the remainder of this project?
No, the maximum request in this program is $10,000. All grants in this program require a 1:1 cash match.

3. I have a dance company which has been invited to an international performing arts festival in Italy. Can I receive funds from the International Partnership Program?
We have a list of countries with whom we have partnership agreements and ongoing relationships. Because of limited funds in this program, priority is given to projects taking place in these countries. Please read the Guidelines to learn more about funding priorities and partner countries.

4. May I request a partial payment?
No, in general, payments are made within 30 days of the completion and approval of the Final Report.

5. Our curatorial team departs in four weeks for China to begin preparations for an exhibition exchange and we still need funding for the project. Can you help us?
Unfortunately, we need to receive requests eight weeks in advance of a project start date.

6. What is the deadline for the International Partnerships Program?
There is no set deadline, the OAC's fiscal year runs July 1 - June 30, therefore, the OAC will only review applications for activities that take place during the current fiscal year. Exception: projects that start July 1st will need to apply by May 1st, which is the previous fiscal year, eight weeks out from this deadline.

7. Are there required support materials for the International Partnership Program?
Yes, see the Guidelines for a list.

8. Does the International Partnership Program fund individual artists?
No, this program no longer funds individual artists. Artists interested in developing an international project must partner with an organization in their community. The organization must be the applicant, and an active participant in the proposed activity. This program does not fund organizations acting as fiscal agents for individual artists.
