As a dancer I will lead students in movement activities that are accessible and embraced by all. We will establish a daily warm-up that will bring consciousness to all our movements as well as an understanding of placement, flexibility, strength, balance, musicality, and coordination. Through improvisation we will explore movement possibilities and creative solutions. We will choose a theme for the residency which will focus our objectives in addressing academic standards or an idea we care about to gain understanding and offer expression. The residency will culminate with an event to share our work with the school community.

I am fascinated with the expressive beauty of the figure in motion and the development of the whole person as a result of learning through "multiple intelligences." In a disciplined technical tradition, I find expression in the phenomenon of nature, the connectedness of all, and the mysteries of life expressed with the joy of moving through space and time with energy and feeling.

As a world-class dancer, teacher and choreographer, I have been blessed with enriching experiences in the classroom with students and on performance stages around the world for decades. I have pioneered programming to integrate movement activities in the study of the core curriculum extensively throughout Ohio and presently offer programs through the Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington DC. As a choreographer, I create original works for my own company DANCEVERT as well for youth ensembles and other professional companies.
