Recently a poet wrote several poems after visiting the Midwestern Visions of Impressionism Exhibition. David Francis Smith shared some of his poetry with us including this poem he wrote after seeing The Morning Sun by Pauline Palmer:

Bathed in the morning sun,
beneath a paper lantern,
she gazes into the mirror.

A lake lies just beyond
the windows draped
in white chiffon.

Blue chiffon is on the table.
She doesn't notice.
She toys with her necklace.

Seated on a yellow chair
she wears a pink gown
and rose colored shoes.
