The Ohio Arts Council will launch a
multiple-city familiarization (FAM) tour this fall in an effort to educate
the Ohio arts community about the State of the Arts Report and other
community development programs. From September 25 through November 2, the
Ohio Arts Council staff will visit Akron, Athens, Bowling Green, Canton,
Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Findlay, Hamilton, Lancaster,
Lima, Mansfield, Marietta, Nelsonville, Portsmouth, Toledo, Wooster and
Youngstown.
Eight of the trips will include a three-hour regional meeting where the
Ohio Arts Council staff will unveil the State of the Arts Report. The OAC
staff will distribute SOAR CD-ROMs, walk constituents through the report
and demonstrate how it will be useful to them. Information will be
presented on the OACıs Faith Based Institution project and other
community development programs. Representatives from Ohio Citizens for the
Arts will speak about advocacy and the importance of public funding for
the arts.
Custom Coach will provide transportation for the FAM tour. Based in

OFFERS WORKSHOPS FOR ARTISTS
The Ohio Arts Council will host a series
of workshops this fall to discuss its Artists Projects and Arts in
Education Artist in Residence programs. Workshops are free and open to
