A MESSAGE FROM OAC'S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear ArtsOhio Reader,

On July 1, the Ohio Arts Councilšs biennium budget was approved for fiscal years 2002 and 2003 at $31,277,247. This is a 4.45 percent decrease from the 2000-2001 appropriation of $32,736,291.

Like many of you, the Ohio Arts Council is working to absorb this reduction by reviewing all aspects of our administrative expenses. One area in which we will reduce costs is the ArtsOhio newsletter. Beginning in November, we will bring you the arts news of the state bi-monthly. We hope this action is only temporary.

Despite this cut in our appropriation, please know that the Council remains committed to working with you, the legislature and the Governor to continue to support and invest in the arts in Ohio.

Please continue to visit our website at www.oac.state.oh.us for more OAC news and information. If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office at 614/466-2613.

Wayne P. Lawson
