The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has announced the first grants in a new $3-million program to bolster small and mid-size visual arts organizations. This capacity-building initiative is the first national effort directed at these groups by a private foundation. SPACES, Cleveland's artist-run visual arts organization, is one of eight of the first year grantees from across the United States. SPACES will use its grant to pay off the mortgage on its 36,000-square-foot building. The loan payoff will release approximately $15,800 annually, which SPACES will use to enhance its services to artists. |

WE'RE BUILDING OHIO THROUGH THE ARTS | |
The Ohio Arts Council, a state agency established in 1965, builds the state through the arts - economically, educationally and culturally - preserving the past, enhancing the present and enriching the future for all Ohioans. The Council believes the arts should be shared by the people of Ohio. The arts arise from public, individual and organizational efforts. The OAC supports and encourages those efforts. |
