BURKHART
MURAL (CON'T)
first-hand knowledge of restoration techniques. Restoration expert Robert Lodge is leading the process by instructing students how to remove the whitewash without losing the paint underneath. The Ohio Arts Council, Target Stores and the German Village Society are supporting the restoration. The students have taken great pride in the mural. Those with painting and good color mixing skills fill in the areas that lack paint. Students also are learning about the WPA, Burkhart and his techniques, art criticism and aesthetics. The restored mural will hang in the atrium-level hallway outside the Columbus Convention Center's 6,000-seat Battelle Hall. For more information call Christy Rosenthal at the Dublin Arts Council, 614/889-7444. |
