  The Taste of Sunrise, an original play by Suzan Zeder about a young deaf boy's struggle to grow up will be presented by Cleveland Signstage Theatre March 4 through March 28 at Cleveland State University's Factory Theatre. The play will be performed simultaneously in American Sign Language and spoken English. For more information call 216/229-2838.

The 4th annual Native American Regional Conference will be held March 12-14 at the Holiday Inn Cleveland/Richfield. Conference topics include cultural diversity and the stereotyping of Native Americans. For more information contact Phyllis Hairston at the Ohio Arts Council, 614/466-2613.

Sandy Skoglund: Reality under Siege is on view at The Toledo Museum of Art through May 2. The exhibition features the first comprehensive survey of Skoglund's career, from her early performance and conceptual art to the work for which she is best known, room-sized installations and photographs based on them. Names in the News

  Paul W. Patton, called Grandpa Moses for his paintings of rural Ohio, has died at age 77. A retired elementary school principal, Patton completed more than 500 paintings with detailed narratives describing the scenes. Though he had no formal training, his work was displayed in many places, including the Ohio Governor's Residence Art Collection and the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown.

Urban Issues Series Continues

  Hazel Morrow-Jones, associate professor of city and regional planning in the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University will discuss How Far Out is Far Enough? Repeat Home Buyers and the American Dream on March 10 at noon at the Columbus Athletic Club, 136 East Broad Street, as part of the series Growing Inward: Rebuilding the Center City, co-sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council.
