I am a visual artist: painter, sculptor and jewelry designer. I am interested in working in either schools or community-based residencies with students of all ages including seniors and those with special needs. It is my aim to demystify the creative process by showing how I use it to create my own work. I demonstrate how jewelry can be made from anything including recyclable materials. Recyclable materials, what some see as being trash, can be turned into things of beauty and value using the creative process. During my residency a core group of students will make works that express their connection to environmental issues. The residency also involves all the students creating a large sculpture that demonstrates our connection to the environment and acts as a reminder of our time together.

My current work is inspired by our inseparable connection to the natural world. I look forward to sharing my work through slide show presentations, workshops and demonstrations. I have taught at public and private schools K thru12, recreation and senior centers, the MRDD community and the Ohio School for the Blind. I have traveled extensively in Europe, Mexico and Central America where I have conducted workshops and developed cottage industries using a variety of recyclable materials. I have recently designed a "Solar Furnace" to melt and cast metal using only the power of the sun.

I have been a practicing artist for over 45 years. I received my BFA from Ohio State University and taught beginning drawing and sculpture while in graduate school there. I was also trained as a machinist while serving in the US military. I sell my work at craft shows, and through the Columbus Museum of Art and Ohio Craft Museum. I am currently an artist with the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Artist in Schools Program and The Ohio Arts Council, Artist in Residency Programs.
