The Central Ohio Symphony presents exciting orchestral experiences for audiences throughout Ohio.
Founded in 1978, the professional ensemble has engaged audiences from Chillicothe to the Lake Erie Islands. The Symphony is noted for excellent programming variety performing many world and U.S. premieres and often features outstanding Ohio composers and guest artists. The Symphony developed the award winning and groundbreaking ''Reconnecting'' program of therapeutic drumming being used in courts, schools and community organizations. Nearly 8,000 attend the Symphony's July 4th concert each year in Delaware, Ohio and often performs for sold out audiences. The conductor is Jaime Morales-Matos from Cincinnati who has conducted in the U.S. and internationally.
Noted for innovation in community engagement, the Symphony involves communities both in the concert settings and with variety of venues and programming as part of a touring event. Customized programming is available.
The Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra is the major performing arts organization in Delaware County, Ohio.
