Canizaro chair for public policy at the Urban Land Institute in Washington, DC, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting quality land use and influencing public policy through research and education. GOVERNOR'S AWARDS LUNCHEON ATTRACTS SOLD-OUT CROWD Arts administrators, patrons, organizations, supporters and artists were praised this spring for their contributions to the cultural enrichment of our state. The 2000 Governor's Awards for the Arts were presented at a luncheon honoring recipients and members of the Ohio Legislature hosted by the Ohio Arts Council and Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation, March 22 at The Columbus Athenaeum. The luncheon drew a sold-out crowd of 900 arts advocates. Honda of America Mfg., Inc. sponsored the awards this year. Pictured at the luncheon, below, are Jeffrey A. Rich, president of Ohio Citizens for the Arts Board; Barbara S. Robinson, chair of the Ohio Arts Council Board; Jo Ann Davidson, speaker of the Ohio House; and Wayne P. Reality
and Interpretation: 20th Century Clothing and Illustration is on view
at the Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery through July 9. Curated by
Charles Kleibacker, the exhibition includes more than 40 garments by 20th
century clothing designers and more than 100 illustrations by influential
fashion artists. Work by student designers that foreshadows the fashion
industry's future also is in the show. Student designs are from the
University of Cincinnati, Columbus College of Art and Design, Kent State
University and Mount Mary College, Milwaukee.
