Views of Tibet ­ An Exploration of the Topography and Culture of Tibet, is on view through November 30 at the Ashtabula Arts Center. The exhibition features the work of Philip Sugden and Carol Elchert, who have made 11 trips to Tibet to study, draw and photograph the landscape and people. The Fitton Center for Creative Arts' eighth annual Feed the Body, Feed the Soul exhibition runs through December 1. The international exhibition draws entries from as far away as Japan and Brazil. Many artists donate work for a silent auction, which lasts the length of the show. Bids will be tallied at a benefit party on December 1. The Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Greater Columbus Arts Council will host a concert and reception in honor of Ohio Citizens for the Arts' 25th Anniversary on November 9. The celebration will be held at the Ohio Theatre in Columbus. Tickets are $10. Ticket sales and contributions benefit Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation. The Art of the Bible/The Bible as Art is on view at the Toledo Museum of Art through January 27. Drawn from the collection of the Toledo Museum of Art and the private library of Dr. Allan B. Kirsner of Toledo, this exhibition highlights sacred and secular objects including a Hebrew Torah scroll, Egyptian papyruses, fragments of an ancient Koran, illuminated leaves from a French Book of Hours and Netherlandish blockbooks. The Bay State Council for the Blind, an affiliate of the American Council of the Blind has released Making Theatre Accessible: A Guide to Audio Description in the Performing Arts. The guidebook is designed to educate performing arts organizations on providing the visually impaired with equal access to performing arts events. OHIO ARTISTS ON TOUR DIRECTORY AVAILABLE
The 2002-2003 Ohio Artists on Tour directory presents information on 89 performing artists who will be available for touring throughout the 2002-2003 season. Artists are selected for inclusion in the directory through a rigorous panel review. The Ohio Arts Councilšs Performing Arts on Tour Program assists communities around the state in presenting professional performing artists.
