VIVA QUETZAL (CONT'D. FROM PAGE 1)

of Viva Quetzal's musicians, a Chilean, a Puerto Rican, four New Englanders and two Peruvians, represents the potential of this rich cultural exchange.

The OAC's faith based institution performing arts tour program began in 1998 with the presentation of Barocco Andino, a Chilean music ensemble. That tour was presented in partnership with Arts Midwest and the Mid America Arts Alliance. In 1999, the Ohio Arts Council brought the Ragamala Music and Dance Theatre to Ohio in partnership with the Ohio Arts Presenters Network and churches and synagogues across the state. The goal is to expose new audiences to art forms from around the world. Faith based institutions are at the heart of every Ohio community.

WE'RE BUILDING OHIO THROUGH THE ARTS
The Ohio Arts Council, a state agency established in 1965, builds the state through the arts - economically, educationally and culturally - preserving the past, enhancing the present and enriching the future for all Ohioans. The Council believes the arts should be shared by the people of Ohio. The arts arise from public, individual and organizational efforts. The OAC supports and encourages those efforts.
