GOVERNOR'S AWARDS SET FOR MARCH 2001

The annual Governor's Awards for the Arts Ceremony and Arts Day Luncheon gives everyone in our state an opportunity to celebrate the artistic achievements of Ohio's artists, arts organizations, arts patrons and businesses.

This gala event is a way to educate the public about the importance of the arts in our communities, advocate public and private funding for the arts and thank members of the Ohio Legislature for their financial support of the Ohio Arts Council.

The 2001 Arts Day Luncheon will be March 14 at The Columbus Athenaeum. Mark your calendars now to save that date. Invitations will be mailed in February.

WE'RE BUILDING OHIO THROUGH THE ARTS
The Ohio Arts Council, a state agency established in 1965, builds the state through the arts - economically, educationally and culturally - preserving the past, enhancing the present and enriching the future for all Ohioans. The Council believes the arts should be shared by the people of Ohio. The arts arise from public, individual and organizational efforts. The OAC supports and encourages those efforts.
