  Shaped with a Passion: The Carl Weyerhaeuser Collection of Japanese Ceramics from the 1970s is on view at the Dayton Art Institute through August 27. Through traditional, folk- style and contemporary works of art, the exhibition emphasizes cultural heritage and human civilization. Works range in size from tea bowls to large-scale sculptures. Playhouse Square Center will present its Cinema at the Square series August 2-27 at the Palace Theatre in Cleveland. Cinema at the Square takes audiences back to Hollywoodıs golden age when movie-going was an event, complete with contests, animated shorts and classic films shown on the Palaceıs 40ı x 40ı screen the largest non-Imax screen in Ohio. Master Drawings from the Cleveland Museum of Art will be on view there August 27-October 15. In the past 80 years the Cleveland Museum of Art has built an outstanding collection of drawings that is little known to the public. Major works by Michelangelo, Raphael, Dürer, Rembrandt, Claude Lorrain, Turner, Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas, Picasso and others will be among the 120 drawings in this exhibition, the first large-scale show to celebrate the museumıs drawings collection.

The Ohio Arts Council is seeking a part-time field representative in the northern 10 counties of the Ohio Appalachian region. Applicants must be self-motivated, have a strong knowledge of Appalachian culture and be able to work as part of a team. Communications and computer skills must be excellent. Position requires Internet access, flexible work schedule and some evening and weekend work. Compensation will be $12 to $15 per hour.
