  Bowling Green State University Distinguished Research Artist Professor John Sampen has been elected president of the North America Saxophone Alliance, the only professional organization for saxophonists in the United States and Canada.

  Framing a Century: American Art from the Dicke Collection, 1862-1997 is on view through February 14 at the Taft Museum in Cincinnati. The exhibition includes more than 40 19th and 20th century American paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. For more information call 513/241-0343.
