A collection of 87 of the most remarkable sculptures, paintings,
manuscripts and decorative works of art to emerge from Buddhist beliefs will be on display
at the Cleveland Museum of Art
beginning August 9. Buddhist Treasures from Nara will remain on view through
September 26. To complement its major summer exhibition celebrating works from
Japans past, the museum will exhibit contemporary landscape photography in Mark
Klett Photographs of Japan: Shikata ga nai. These 60 images will be presented from
August 15 to October 22. For information call 216/421-7340. The Cleveland Institute of Art will host Drawn Together: Annual Exhibition of Alumni Art 1998 through August 23.
