Ohio Artists on Tour
The Cleveland Orchestra, founded in 1918, is considered one of the premiere American symphonic ensembles. Under the baton of music director Franz Welser-Most, The Cleveland Orchestra has maintained a steadfast commitment to its long-held traditions of artistic excellence, educational outreach, and community service.
The Cleveland Orchestra performs concerts featuring a wide-ranging repertoire both in Cleveland and on tour. The Orchestra tours extensively, both domestically and internationally, to critical acclaim. In Europe, the Orchestra now has biennial residencies at the Musikverein in Vienna, and regularly appears at European festivals. In the United States, the Orchestra and Mr. Welser-Most have toured the East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast, and have performed frequently at Carnegie Hall. Locally, the Orchestra performs annually at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall in Akron, and Finney Chapel on the Oberlin College campus.
