Ohio Arts Council Announces June Board Meeting

Members of the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) Board will meet June 28-29, 2010 at the OAC’s office, 727 E. Main Street, Columbus. Committee meetings will take place Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. The business meeting will be held Tuesday from 1 – 3:30 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.

The following committees will meet on Monday, June 28 from 2-4:30 p.m.: Supplemental Funding, Policy and Planning, and International. The following committees will meet Tuesday, June 29 from 9:15-11:45 a.m.: Education, Legislative/Advocacy Action, and Executive.

During the full Board meeting on Tuesday, June 29 at 1 p.m. the OAC Board will approve grant recommendations for Sustainability, Arts Access, Arts Innovation, Arts Learning – Artists in Residence program, Arts Learning – Arts Partnership program; Individual Artist Grant Programs and Services – Traditional Arts Apprenticeships and Project Support. The Board also will ratify grants for Special Projects, Arts Access, Arts Learning – Artists Express, Artists with Disabilities Access and Building Cultural Diveristy programs and the Ohio Heritage Fellowship Award. There will be a presentation on the Ohio Ethics Commission Advisory Opinon for the OAC by Todd Nist, assistant attorney general, Attorney General’s Office, as well as Ohio Citizens for the Arts (OCA) updates from Bill Blair, legislative counsel, OCA and Donna Collins, executive director, OCA.

The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically.
